Peoples Bank’s Amason Named To Elite National Committee

PRESS RELEASE

MAGEE – The recognition Peoples Bank continues to receive for its dedication to small business lending continues with the selection of Connie Amason as a Small Lender Committee representative for the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL). Ms. Amason was among 15 other bankers from across the nation who will represent lenders in dealing with the U.S. Small Business Administration and Congressional interests.
Last year, Peoples Bank was named the Number One Small Lender in America by the U.S. Small Business Administration for their SBA Lending expertise and commitment, and was twice featured on ABC News with Dianne Sawyer. Bank President and CEO Dennis Ammann said, “This is a tremendous honor and another reflection of Peoples Bank’s prominence in the small business lending community.”
The NAGGL Committee requires participating members to commit to a three-year term and, according to documents defining the duties Ms. Amason will face, noted “As a small Association, we rely on our expert members who are spread across the country to provide input on hot technical issues, regional issues, issues specific to a membership category, and to provide input on conference topics to keep committee effectiveness at its peak.”
Having joined Peoples Bank in 2006, Ms. Amason serves as a Poultry Loan Assistant, preparing files and conducting cash flow analysis in the process of packaging loans. In 2008, she assumed responsibilities for the bank’s Small Business Administration (SBA) loan services and the duties of processing and maintaining SBA loans. In this capacity, she is the primary SBA contact for Peoples Bank.
“I am truly honored to have been selected from the hundreds of prospective committee members for a role with the NAGGL,” Amason said. “And in a very significant way, the customers we serve will now have a voice at the national level. Throughout the year, I not only process loans but discuss important issues with our customers, and those matters of concern they raise will now be heard in Washington.”
Ammann noted that “We are pleased that Connie will be an active participant on the NAGGL committee in the certain knowledge that she will quickly prove to be an asset. Her hard work and knowledge of SBA of is one of the primary reasons Peoples Bank has been able to help so many customers.
“Peoples Bank’s leadership in SBA lending is established in Mississippi, and now once again extends to a national influence.”

Craft Honored with “Heroes Among Us” Award

PRESS RELEASE

Magee- Peoples Bank is pleased to recognize our very own Jennifer Craft. Jennifer was chosen as a “Heroes Among Us” recipient by the Celebrating Hope™ Foundation. Jennifer has served as a dedicated volunteer for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life for eight years. She has given countless hours to a cause she was passionate about; all this, even before her own personal diagnosis of Stage 3 Melanoma, in 2009. Jennifer is a survivor. She fought and won her personal battle and is currently in remission. However, her passion and dedication to help others just grew stronger.
In August 2011, she joined Celebrating Home, a Christian-based company that offers fundraising through home and garden products. This allowed Jennifer to participate more in fundraising and provide those monies for the Relay for Life. When the company offered an additional 5% in commission, she also donated that back to the Relay for Life. Celebrating Home quickly realized that Jennifer was a perfect recipient for their “Heroes Among Us” award. Her selfless dedication, generous heart, and loving spirit were exactly what the award was created to celebrate.
As an honoree, Jennifer was given $1000, which she chose to donate to the local chapter of Susan G. Komen foundation.
