Winner Winner Steak Dinner!
How often do your bosses cater to you? At the Magee Branch, Officers showed their appreciation this week by serving a delicious dinner to their staff at the beautiful McAlpin House. Gloria Lucus prepared a salad, roast beef, loaded potatoes, squash casserole, green beans and a roll for dinner. Dessert was a choice of fresh apple pie, or brownie dessert. All enjoyed their time of food, fun, and fellowship thanks to the amazing customers that walk through our doors!

New Orleans Cooking School & Laura Creole Plantation Tour
The Platinum Club enjoyed a day trip to New Orleans, Thursday, June 7th. The first stop, the New Orleans School of Cooking, was full of the Fun, Food & Folklore that makes Louisiana special! The entertaining class and the Louisiana General Store are located in a renovated molasses warehouse built in the early 1800s in the heart of the French Quarter. They learned the basics of Louisiana Cooking. Fun is a primary ingredient in their kitchen! The menu included Creole specialties: Gumbo, Jambalaya, Bread pudding and Pralines, all seasoned with history, trivia and tall tales. They enjoyed a full meal featuring this menu, plus iced tea, coffee, or lemonade, along with copies of all the recipes. It was a "ga-ron-teed" good time for all.
After
the memorable cooking class together, the Platinum Club had some time to shop
and do some sight-seeing in the Famous French Market.
The
Platinum Club then headed west, to the historic town of Vacherie, Louisiana to tour
Laura – A Creole Plantation. At this historic site, they were able to view the
largest collection of family artifacts original to a Louisiana Plantation. They
saw clothing, business and slave records, Mardi Gras and mourning heirlooms,
from over 200 years of daily life at this fascinating sugarcane plantation. After
their guided tour, they made their way north, for a
special stop at Middendorf’s Restaurant for an enjoyable catfish dinner.

Simpson County's Relay for Life was held Friday April 27th at the Magee Sportsplex. Thanks to all of the wonderful people who contributed their time, Simpson County raised a total of $100,002.83!! Here's just a few pics from the night!
